Update on the Dastardly Duo

So what has the dynamic duo been up to lately?

Lots, and lots and LOTS! That's what!

First up, the peach tree in our backyard has blossomed. To the point that we are being flooded with ripe peaches. Every day Fred and Rosie forage in the forest (backyard) to find food for their ever growing doggie tummies. Here is Rosie caught in the act as she sniffs for peaches...

Meanwhile, we all know the state of my poor doggie's accomodation/sleeping quarters. Their beds are essentially a frame with some fabric hanging off it in very artistic ways.

Here is Rosie doing her own style of interior decor...

Guilt finally took over, and we gave them our old futon.

So far, so good. You can see there's already been some slight tearing, but perhaps that's just to make them feel more comfortable. So it's like a den, y'know. Carve out your little piece of sleeping area so to speak.

Here is rosie later...

The next morning when I woke up, I was greeted with this:

We're actually pretty sure it's Freddie who does all the destruction. Poor Rosie. All she wanted was a comfy bed. But Freddie was bored and dug it all up. Dogs are so dumb...

Grrr
Grrr2

In other news Freddie's getting a bit dominant again. I caught them playing, and usually a dog shows dominance by 'humping' as Sue so nicely puts it, the other. Usually it's Rosie doing this, and it's quite amusing to watch. However, I caught Freddie doing this the other day (see left).

We've also stopped walking them by driving them directly to the park (I know, how naughty of us!), after Freddie pulled so badly that I fell onto the concrete driveway of our next door neighbour's house. *sigh*

In fact I stopped walking them for a week after that. I'm slowly taking back over the reins, but only after the bf disciplined them and kept them on a short lead for a week.

And they're much better now. But it's all about consistency. And gee, it's hard to be consistent on a daily basis - especially when you're tired, and you just want to get the walk over and done with so you can relax in front of the tele - or make jewellery in my lab, in my case. LOL.

I have a whole bunch of other pics at home, including one of the new bed that I made my puppies (which they promptly chewed into oblivion in 12 hours), but they don't seem to be on this computer. So instead, I'll just have to finish off with some pics of my gentle giants playing...

But as per usual, I'll sign off with the cutest/funniest pic I have of Freddie on hand...

  1. I hope you keep them from your bedroom, seeing what they can do with a futon.  :gasp:  I am lucky that Gigi never destuff anything.

At least it makes throwing your old futon very easy. lol.

OMG, that's actually a futon? I initially thought it was a piece of rug, until I saw the earlier pics of it in a "whole" piece. LOL. Haha, but they look SO cute with that torn futon...or what ever's left of it.

    *gasps*

    Gosh...Rosie's teeth are scarryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

And Fred looks so goofy in that pic! LOL. They are really adorable despite being giants...and those scary teeth too.

  5. we pretty much guessed they would destuff it. it was sooo heavy to drag around. what i didn't realise was how QUICK they would be to do it. We also were silly and thought, hey, they might not y'know. I mean, they have no beds now. They might be smarter this time and keep their beds...

    WRONG. Silly doggies

  8. [this is good] Those futon photos are awesome!  Well, not for the futon, but those pups were probably certain that they were "making it softer".

  9. hahaha..

well rosie has settled into new parts of the verandah, now that the entire ground is 'snow soft'. every time i look outside, i'm met with a sea of white.

i need to go and move some of that stuffing onto our vegie patch as mulch.

    *shakes head*

    silly doggies

  10. hey, I stopped peeking at the pics when you told me! I only saw like 3 pics okay???!

    *kicks*

Btw, the futon is still out there? LOL, can they still sleep on the shreds?? :D Gosh, they are too funny!

  11. what *remains* of the futon is still out there, yes.

it's just a bunch of stuffing on the ground. and they seem to happily sit on it.

they are very silly dogs. but great entertainment value.

i need to start cleaning some of it up though. it's getting a bit ridiculous. there's a few sticks they've found in teh garden that freddie regularly chews on. every weekend i sweep that verandah, and get rid of the stick. he finds it and brings it back.

i saw it yesterday buried under the white stuffing =P go figure.
